What is My Thread Box?

My Thread Box is for anyone who sews, especially machine embroidery and machine cross-stitch users. It is a unique, easy to use thread matching and thread conversion software program that was designed by Scott and Diana Speights, a husband and wife team who wanted to solve the problem of how to use up boxes of thread that they had purchased over the years, but were from different manufacturers than the one listed on their design thread charts.

My Thread Box gives you the freedom to choose what thread you wish to use to sew out a design by color matching most major embroidery thread brands to alternate colors. It does this for you by using the Red/Green/Blue color values of the thread color itself, rather than relying on the manufacturer's cross reference tables, which are usually incomplete or inaccurate - if you can even find them!

How Does My Thread Box Work?

Have you ever tried to hand-match 25 colors on a complex design to 3 or 4 different tables, then sort through your collection to see if any of the possible alternates are in your personal thread inventory? If so you probably came to the conclusion that it is simpler to just go out and buy the recommended thread colors. That's a good deal for the thread makers, but not so good for you!

With My Thread Box you are no longer stuck with the thread brands and numbers in the thread chart that came with your embroidery design - this software gives YOU the freedom to sew your design with ANY brand of thread that you choose. You can even search your own stash of threads for the best match.

With My Thread Box, you just type in the colors you need and have a list printed out for you, including showing the matches that are in your thread stash! You can also adjust the tolerances to find alternate colors as well.

My Thread Box does not use 'conversion tables' to cross-reference thread colors, but rather uses digital color value matching (Red-Green-Blue Color Strength Numbers) to match to and from any given thread color to 70 different embroidery thread brands and over 21,000 colors!
