The Zalai style of embroidery usually chose pastel colors or white for backgrounds and the entire design was done in pure white. Though the designs are of folk art origin they are elegant and enchanting, simple and superb for an Eastern European or "old world" accents on delicate linens, wedding gowns and clothing.
